Five days in Northern Maine

Trout Brook Mountain

We started hiking down the Five Ponds Trail and took a little detour up Trout Brook Mountain. From there we could also get a view of our destination Billfish pond.

Billfish Pond

A nice spot to camp

Loons were out when it got close to sunset.

The next morning the pond was still.

While I was pumping water I counted at least 6 frogs hanging out on lilly pads.

After hiking through a rain storm we found Middle Fowler Pond

We were at the North end our campsite was at the South end

Twenty minutes later we made it to our campsite

Made for really good pictures.

We had camp setup by 1 pm and had the afternoon to relax

Loons were hanging out in this lake as well

Along with tweety birds

After a brief downpour more of the clouds disappeared.

Beavers were active on the pond

We found thier house!

We had a beautiful sunset

Monday dawned nice and clear and we got up before the sun was up over the mountain.

We packed up the site and headed out to go to Barrell Ridge
